Bobo the bear warns his friends that winter is coming, but Rudy the fox, Gogo the hedgehog, Sisi the squirrel and Mimi the mouse have never seen winter before. They imagine it is an animal and decide to block its path.
Their barricade is destroyed by the first snowstorm, and Bobo suggests they look for a warm home together. The friends search the forest, but every idea fails. Their attempt to build a house also turns into complete disaster.
Just when they lose all hope, a passing sleigh drops a mitten in the snow. Bobo realizes it can become the perfect home, and by night the five friends are warm and happy inside, while the blizzard howls menacingly outside.
