The Sylphs – Animated Feature

The Sylphs is an animated feature film set across three worlds that were once connected and dependent on one another: the world of humans, the realm of the sylphs and the underground kingdom of the gnomes. Over time, fear and misunderstanding have divided them, weakening the ancient bond between humanity and nature. When the balance begins to collapse, a young sylph named Goodwill and a human girl, Zoe, are drawn into a journey that forces them to cross the boundaries separating their worlds. Along the way, they must overcome mistrust, confront inherited prejudices and discover that none of the three communities can survive in isolation. Combining fantasy, adventure and emotional storytelling, The Sylphs explores friendship, responsibility and the need to restore a relationship with nature that has long been neglected. At its heart, the film is about learning to see beyond difference and recognising that cooperation is not simply an ideal, but the only path towards a shared future. The project has received development and production support from the Bulgarian National Film Center. The literary work on which it is based has been nominated for the Peroto Literary Award and Eurocon, and was included in the English-language catalogue of the Peroto Literary Club.
